Nearly $60,000 was awarded to 14 auto tech programs at community colleges across Iowa for equipment, tools and program development needed by each school
West Des Moines, Iowa—The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education awarded nearly $60,000 to 14 auto tech programs at community colleges across Iowa as part of its ongoing efforts to support automotive education in the state of Iowa. The grants provide funds for equipment, tools and program development needed by each school.
“The foundation is pleased to support the auto programs at Iowa’s community colleges,” said Mary Cason, executive vice president of the Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education. “The grant money will purchase equipment and training that will enhance students’ learning experience and prepare them for the work atmosphere at a dealership.”
- Des Moines Area Community College received $2,000 to purchase promotional products for potential students.
- Hawkeye Community College received $3,000 for cordless power tools.
- Indian Hills Community College received $8,000 for a diagnostic scan tool.
- Iowa Central Community College received $5,775 for an AC recovery and charging system.
- Iowa Lakes Community College received $2,315 for a DC circuit trainer.
- Iowa Valley Community College received $3,025 for an electrical trainer.
- Iowa Western Community College received $5,500 for tool sets.
- Kirkwood Community College received $2,520 for a noise, vibration, and harshness kit.
- Northeast Iowa Community College received $5,420 for a battery starting and charging system.
- Northwest Iowa Community College received $3,400 for a differential cutaway trainer.
- Scott Community College received $5,000 for a recycle machine and supplies.
- Southeastern Community College received $5,000 for a Robinair ACS machine.
- Southwestern Community College received $5,800 for a self-piercing rivet gun.
- Western Iowa Tech Community College received $2,650 for two electrical system trainers.
