Joe Bologna of Ellisville Tire & Service is one of only 53 technicians nationwide to receive top ASE honor
St. Louis—Joe Bologna of St. Louis metro’s Ellisville Tire & Service was recently honored with a national achievement award as the Discount Tire ASE Automobile Technician of the Year Award.
“Joe is an outstanding professional, and his commitment to safety and on-the-job excellence are a perfect reflection of the values and people of Ellisville and at Discount Tire,” said Earl Davidson, vice president of full service at Discount Tire.
Bologna, a head technician at Ellisville Tire & Service with more than 20 years of industry experience, was one of only 53 technicians nationwide to receive the Technician of the Year designation. Nominees are required to possess multiple ASE certifications, including the Master Technician ASE certification, deliver top scores on ASE tests, and demonstrate proficiency in productivity, customer satisfaction, and community involvement.

Thirty-five companies among the aftermarket, service, and original equipment manufacturer segments partner with ASE to sponsor the annual technician recognition awards. Discount Tire, which is owned by Reinalt-Thomas Corporation, acquired Ellisville Tire & Service in 2021 as the company expanded its operations from tire retail and service shops to include full-service automotive repair facilities. In 2023, the company also acquired the full-service locations of Dunn Tire.
