Two-session program equips emerging aftermarket leaders to strengthen their organizations, navigate industry challenges and gain a professional network
Midland, Mich.—Automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket professionals have limited time to register for Leadership 2.0, an immersive executive-development program offered by the University of the Aftermarket at Northwood University.
The program’s first session will be held Aug. 9–12 at Northwood’s Midland campus, followed by a second session in March 2027.
Designed for high-potential professionals seeking to expand their leadership capabilities and strengthen their organizations’ competitive advantage, Leadership 2.0 combines industry expertise, applied learning and meaningful collaboration with peers from throughout the aftermarket.
“Leadership 2.0 is not a conventional seminar where participants simply listen to presentations and return to work with a binder of notes,” said James O’Dell, director of corporate education for the University of the Aftermarket.
“Participants examine real challenges facing our industry, test ideas alongside their peers and develop strategies they can immediately apply within their organizations. With the opening session approaching, professionals and employers considering the program should act now to secure a place.”
Facilitated by Northwood University faculty, senior aftermarket executives and thought-leadership professionals, the program explores challenges and opportunities confronting the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket.
Topics include industry research and market analysis, competitive strategy, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, organizational culture and dynamic team performance.
Between the two sessions, participants collaborate on an aftermarket-focused team project examining leadership perspectives and industry issues. Teams present their findings during the concluding session, with presentations evaluated by their classmates.
“Companies throughout the aftermarket need leaders who can think beyond daily operations, communicate effectively and respond strategically to a rapidly changing business environment,” said Dr. Matthew Bennett, Northwood University vice president of enrollment and strategic alliances.
“Leadership 2.0 provides an exceptional opportunity for organizations to invest in professionals who have the potential to shape their teams, strengthen company culture and contribute to the industry’s future.”
Leadership 2.0 is designed for emerging and established managers seeking to strengthen their effectiveness in leadership, sales, communication, team performance and organizational culture.
The program is also suited for professionals who want to become more effective managers, communicators and team leaders while developing a deeper understanding of the automotive and heavy-duty aftermarket.
Participants who complete the program will learn strategies for distinguishing their organizations from the competition and receive seven continuing education units.
Space is limited, and professionals and employers are encouraged to reserve a seat before the program reaches capacity. To review complete course information and register, visit the Leadership 2.0 course website.
