Arnold Motor Supply names Mike Dyer as Technician of the Year

“Mike is not just an exceptional technician — he’s the foundation of our technical team,” says shop owner Zach Haver

Spencer, Iowa—Arnold Motor Supply has announced that Mike Dyer, Lead Technician at Westgate High Tech Auto Care in Omaha, Neb., has been named the 2025 Technician of the Year. This annual award recognizes one outstanding technician from Arnold Motor Supply’s Certified Service Center network.

Dyer will represent Arnold Motor Supply and Westgate High Tech at the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance’s Technician of the Year competition, July 7–10, in Detroit. Finalists will complete a written test to determine the top technician in North America.

Dyer leads diagnostic and repair operations across three growing Omaha locations. In 2024, he completed nearly 100 hours of technical training in diesel systems, European schematics, and heavy-duty applications. His training includes certifications in BMW, Audi, PowerStroke, Duramax, and ASE.

“Mike is not just an exceptional technician — he’s the foundation of our technical team,” said Zach Haver, owner of Mad Hatter and Westgate High Tech Auto Care. “His reliability and leadership gave me the confidence to expand to multiple locations.”

Dyer began his career at 19 and has earned a reputation as the go-to expert among his peers, known for his diagnostic skills and commitment to ongoing training.

The Technician of the Year program recognizes top technicians across the Auto Value and Bumper to Bumper network. Nominees are evaluated on technical skill, diagnostic ability, and training record.
