Right to Repair to take center stage at advocacy legislative summit

The MEMA event is for aftermarket suppliers to advocate for consumer choice and engage directly with lawmakers and regulators, April 26-27, in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C.—MEMA, the Vehicle Suppliers Association, has announced the launch of the 2023 Spring into Advocacy Legislative Summit. The annual summit will take place on April 26-27 in Washington, D.C., and provides a meaningful opportunity for aftermarket suppliers to engage directly with lawmakers and regulators on pressing issues that impact the industry, including repair access and the passage of the REPAIR Act.

“We are excited to host the 2023 Legislative Summit and provide a platform for aftermarket suppliers to engage with policymakers on the REPAIR Act,” said Paul McCarthy, President and CEO, MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. “This is a critical time to gain support and co-sponsors for the repair access legislation and the summit provides a direct way to make that happen, putting members directly in front of their representatives. And it’s important for members to know that this is not just for government affairs people — we need lots of voices and perspectives in these meetings.”

In addition to right to repair, the 2023 Spring into Advocacy Legislative Summit will provide an opportunity for aftermarket suppliers to highlight other critical issues, including the transition to net-zero vehicle emissions, trade and China, workforce challenges, and more. In addition to meetings with lawmakers, attendees will also have the opportunity to listen to experts dive into the issues affecting suppliers during educational sessions.

MEMA advocates for and with vehicle suppliers to advance their business interests. The Legislative Summit will offer attendees the chance to learn, engage and make their voices heard during this crucial time in the industry.
