Richard and Lisa Beirne elevate UAF support to Gold Lifetime Trustee

The Beirnes are the first individuals to attain this donor status, reserved for those who have expanded their support of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation

Bethesda, Md.—Richard and Lisa Beirne have increased their support of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation (UAF), reaching the Gold Lifetime Trustee level.

The Gold Lifetime Trustee designation is reserved for outstanding donors who have expanded their support of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation and its mission. The Beirnes are the first individuals to attain this donor status.

“Lisa and I have spent a lifetime in the automotive aftermarket and along the way, we have met so many amazing people who have enriched our lives beyond expectations. Supporting the University of the Aftermarket Foundation is a way for us to give back to an industry that has been very good to us,” said Richard Beirne, MAAP, senior advisor, Automotive Parts Headquarters, who serves on the UAF board of trustees.

“The aftermarket is a great place to work, but it is also a well-kept secret. By supporting UAF, we can share our good fortune while shining a light on the aftermarket through the hundreds of scholarships and educational programs funded by UAF each year.”

Richard Beirne began his career in the automotive aftermarket in 1968 as a delivery driver. He had the opportunity to work in every phase of the auto parts business, including machine shop, paint store, warehouse order picking, transportation, the parts counter, outside sales, administrative, and eventually owner, president and CEO of United Auto Supply in LaCrosse, Wis. Today, he serves as senior advisor of Automotive Parts Headquarters.

Roger McCollum, MAAP, UAF chairman, said, “We sincerely thank Dick and Lisa Beirne for leveling up their support of UAF to the Gold Lifetime Trustee level. Their generous spirit is a shining example of pouring it forward for the next generation.

“Through their contributions to UAF, Dick and Lisa are investing in the future of the aftermarket and paving the way for more talented people to pursue careers in our industry.”
