San Diego—Mitchell 1 has expanded the capabilities of its Manager SE shop management software with a new file attachment feature that allows users to attach images and documents directly to labor, parts, sublet and note line items within a repair order.
This new functionality keeps supporting files organized with the appropriate repair order details, making it quick and easy for auto repair technicians to access information whenever they need it. For example, a technician can attach a photo of a VIN-specific intake manifold gasket to a parts line item, helping ensure the correct part is ordered and installed.
“Supporting photos and documents provide valuable context throughout the repair process,” said Paul Reed, Manager SE product marketing manager for Mitchell 1. “By keeping diagnostic images, inspection photos and supporting documentation connected to the repair, shops can improve technician collaboration, strengthen customer communication and maintain a more complete service history.”
With the new file attachment feature, technicians can add captions for quick identification, open attachments in their default browser and enlarge images with a simple double-click. The file attachment feature is also available within the Revisions screen, allowing shops to preserve supporting documentation for recommended repairs that customers choose to postpone. This creates a complete record that can be referenced during future visits.
The attachments feature supports multiple file formats, including common image types such as JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF and HEIC, as well as document formats including PDF, TXT and DOCX. Users can also attach files and images from the Altus tab, making it easy to incorporate photos and documents captured by compatible Snap-on diagnostic devices directly into the repair order.
