Free ASE technician webinar: ‘High-Speed CAN Networks’ 

Garage Guru William “Bill” McAleese will discuss Controller Area Networks, starting with theory and operation

Leesburg, Va.—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. ET, entitled, “High-Speed CAN Networks.”

In the webinar, Garage Guru William “Bill” McAleese will discuss Controller Area Networks (CAN Networks). He will start with a brief review of the theory and operation of CAN Networks by using material covered in the hands-on CAN Networks class.

McAleese will also dive into diagnostic techniques and provide on-car demonstrations incorporating digital multimeters (DMMs/DVOMs), digital storage oscilloscopes (DSOs) and a break-out box for the 16-pin data link connector (DLC). The diagnostic portion will include walking through the procedures step-by-step, along with proper set up of the tools. Participants will be able to implement some of these techniques in their shop when they finish watching the presentation. 

This is a video-based presentation. For the best results, attend this session on a desktop or laptop device. The use of mobile devices is not recommended.
