Iowa shop owner Trent Lee Waltersdorf, 47, passes away

Lacona, Iowa—Trent Lee Waltersdorf, 47, died Wednesday, March 11, at his home in Lacona, Iowa. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 21, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway in West Des Moines from 1-4 p.m.

He was the owner of Trent’s Garage in Clive, Iowa, and was the husband of Amy Waltersdorf, MWACA Des Moines Chapter Treasurer.

Waltersdorf, son of Larry and Linda Waltersdorf, was born April 17, 1972, the youngest of two sons. He grew up in Creston and Afton where he graduated from East Union High School in 1990.

His obituary stated he had a love for anything with a motor and started working for RJ’s Service Center in 1997. In 2012 he purchased the business, renaming it Trent’s Garage Complete Car Care Center, and completed his certification as a Certified Master Automotive Technician. He was known not only for the wonderful job he performed for each customer, but also for the unmatched customer service he and Amy provided at the garage where each customer became family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
