Brembo enters heavy-duty pickup and SUV market

New BOLDIKA six-piston fixed aluminum caliper, specifically designed for trucks and large SUVs, is launching first on the Chevrolet Silverado EV

Plymouth, Mich.—Brembo has introduced BOLDIKA, its new six-piston fixed aluminum cast-iron brake caliper designed to improve braking performance of electrified and internal combustion engine (ICE) heavy-duty pickup trucks and SUVs.

As these vehicles become more powerful, capable and electrified, braking performance becomes even more critical. With more than 8,500Nm of braking torque, it is the most powerful caliper Brembo has ever built for passenger car application, combining muscular performance with a distinctive style.

The new caliper will launch first with a Brembo disc on the Chevrolet Silverado EV RST Stars and Steel Edition in 2026 before coming to additional trucks and SUVs. The caliper marks Brembo’s first entry into the heavy-duty pickup truck segment.

Designed specifically for large, heavy and high-horsepower vehicles, it features a unique three-piece construction.

While primarily made of lightweight aluminum, it applies Brembo’s cast-iron central bridge concept to a six-piston design for the first time, with the two aluminum halves connected by bolts. This solution increases stiffness, delivering greater braking power, consistency and stability while reducing weight compared with a fully cast-iron alternative.

Engineered to maximize pad surface area, the caliper maintains a compact architecture compatible with 20-inch and larger wheels. This is a key packaging advantage for truck and SUV applications that are often used for towing or off-road driving.

The name BOLDIKA (pronounced bohl-DEE-kah) draws inspiration from the words “Bold” and “Like,” reflecting the caliper’s assertive engineering approach.

The caliper also features Brembo Enesys zero-drag technology, which ensures that the pads return to their resting position after braking, reducing residual brake torque. This can help increase vehicle range and maximize pad life.

Its aluminum body also enables premium finishing and color customization, reinforcing Brembo’s signature blend of technology and design. The Chevrolet Performance caliper launching on the Chevrolet Silverado EV is finished in Torch Red with Chevrolet and Brembo co-branding.
