Under the contract, it will operate 14 automotive service centers located on U.S. Navy bases across the country, rebranded as Pep Boys
Philadelphia—Pep Boys announced on Tuesday a contract with the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM). Under the contract, Pep Boys plans to operate 14 of NEXCOM’s automotive service centers located on U.S. Navy bases across the country. The transition will be implemented on a rolling basis.
The newly converted locations will be rebranded under the Pep Boys name. The company was founded by Navy veterans.
“Our company was founded by three Navy veterans, and we take immense pride in continuing that tradition by serving the military community with the same dedication and excellence that has defined us for more than 100 years,” said Joe Auriemma, CEO of Pep Boys.
NEXCOM, which operates Navy Exchange retail stores and services on U.S. Navy bases around the globe, awarded Pep Boys as its new automotive service provider for its authorized customers, which includes active-duty service members, retirees, and their families in these 14 U.S Navy base locations.
The 14 automotive and tire service centers include:

- Naval Base San Diego, CA
- Naval Base Point Loma, CA
- Naval Support Activity Monterey, CA
- Naval Air Station Oceana, VA
- Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, VA
- Stennis Space Center, MS
- Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL
- Naval Station Mayport, FL
- Naval Air Station Pensacola (Corry Station), FL
- Naval Air Station Pensacola (Aviation Plaza), FL
- Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA
- Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, WA
- Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI
The transition of these locations is expected to begin in August.
