Las Vegas man rebuilding his life receives refurbished vehicle from collision industry

“This truck will mean everything to us,” says Patrick Brown. “We have a hard time right now and this will really help out a lot.”

Las Vegas—A Las Vegas man who is rebuilding his life and is caring for his children received a donation of a refurbished vehicle. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Maaco.

The presentation took place at the Maaco Annual Convention at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.  The recipient was nominated by HopeLink of Southern Nevada.  HopeLink is dedicated to keeping families housed and supported through challenging times.

“This truck will mean everything to us, we will be able to do more things with the family, doctors’ appointments, everything, doing laundry,” said Patrick Brown, who received a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, donated by Allstate and refurbished by Maaco Las Vegas. “We have a hard time right now and this will really help out a lot.”

In December 2023 Brown was headed down a path that impacted his relationship with his children and his own self-respect, he said, adding that he has worked hard to have his children back in his life and has remained focused on them and on his recovery.

Brown continues to use public transportation to get to and from his work as a chef and has been using public transportation as the family’s sole source of transportation for almost two years. This gift will give them freedom to be a family outside of the home, to go places, such as museums, the movies, hiking and day trips.

Allstate, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council, has donated several hundred vehicles to people and organizations through the NABC Recycled Rides program, making it one of the largest car donor partners of NABC Recycled Rides.

Maaco, a part of Driven Brands, is also a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council. Since 1972, Maaco has serviced more than 20 million cars and works with all insurance companies.

Additional partners included J&A, Copart, Advanced Remarketing Services, and Cars for Charity

NABC Recycled Rides is a program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation.  Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.
