St. Louis—The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Missouri (AASP-MO) will hold its annual “Toys For Tots Christmas Social” at Syberg’s Restaurant, 270 and Dorsett, Wednesday, Dec. 11, 6-9 p.m.
“We collected more than 1,200 toys last year, probably closer to 1,500,” AASP-MO Executive Director Ron Reiling said. “We want to blow that away this year.”

“We collected more than 1,200 toys last year, probably closer to 1,500,” AASP-MO Executive Director Ron Reiling said. “We want to blow that away this year.”

The Toys For Tots program began in 1947 as the brain-child of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks and it has evolved over the last 71 years into the largest toy drive in the U.S.

The event is hosted by the Gateway Collision Chapter Chairman Doug Slattery, of Automotive Technology Inc. (ATI), and is open to AASP-MO members and their guests. Toy donations (new and unwrapped) should be dropped off no later than Tuesday, Dec. 10. All toys will be given to children in the St. Louis-metro area.

Beverage sponsors include ATI, Chief, Don’s Body Shop, Chapmann and Sanders, Mitchell, Cooper Color, PPG, Don’s Auto Body and ABRA Glass. Reiling said additional sponsors can contribute for $150. Hors d’oeuvres are sponsored by Cooper Color, Caliber Collision, Enterprise and PPG.
