Sun Auto Tire & Service expands into North Carolina

The acquisition of four Tire Max locations in the greater Greensboro area brings Sun Auto’s nationwide presence to 485 locations

Greensboro, N.C.—Sun Auto Tire & Service has announced its growth into North Carolina through the acquisition of four Tire Max locations in the greater Greensboro area. The move highlights the brand’s growing footprint in the Southeast United States, adding to its seven-store presence in neighboring Virginia, and its continued investment in strategic M&A in the Southeast and nationwide.

The acquisition brings Sun Auto’s nationwide presence to 485 locations. The four new shops collectively offer 31 service bays to accommodate a range of automotive needs, including tires, oil changes, and air conditioning service and repair.

“For over two decades, we have proudly served the Greensboro community, striving to exceed expectations with high-quality repairs and clear communication,” said Max Gardner, owner of Tire Max. “These are values that we share with Sun Auto, and we’re confident their guidance will be crucial in helping us maintain our culture, reputation in the community, and ongoing opportunities for our valued team members.”

“Guest satisfaction and transparency are top priorities for us,” said Sun Auto Regional Vice President Michael Loa. “The Tire Max team has a well-earned trusted reputation for excellence in service, which made them a natural choice when we looked to expand into North Carolina. We’re excited to welcome the Tire Max team to the fold and bring together our strengths in a way that drives us all forward.”

Over the past 12 months, Sun Auto Tire & Service has added 60 facilities to its portfolio across the United States through both acquisition and strategic organic development.
