Newberry, Fla.—Advance Auto Parts opened its first store in Newberry, Fla. The company marked the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside local officials and representatives from Santa Fe College who accepted a donation from Advance Auto Parts for the school’s auto technology program.

The donation will help cover students’ parts and tools needs while they gain hands-on experience, training and career opportunities as future automotive technicians. Skilled automotive technicians continue to be in high demand with approximately 70,000 openings projected annually through 2034, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

“We’re grateful to Advance Auto Parts for investing in our students and recognizing the importance of hands-on automotive education,” said Chris Mortimer, Chair, Construction and Technical Programs of Santa Fe College.

He added, “Support like this helps prepare students for rewarding careers in a growing industry. We congratulate Advance on this new store opening and appreciate its commitment to supporting education and workforce development in our community.”
