AAA and NAPA Autotech launch mentorship program for technicians

The program, made available to AAA’s Approved Auto Repair facilities, is designed to provide hands-on experience and online training

Orlando, Fla.—AAA, in collaboration with NAPA Autotech, has announced the launch of a new automotive apprenticeship program to support the development of the next generation of automotive repair professionals in the industry. The program, made available to AAA’s Approved Auto Repair facilities, is designed to provide hands-on experience through expert guidance from industry leaders.

Recent research from the Department of Labor highlighted a 22% increase in active apprentices compared to the previous decade and a 9% rise in new apprentices in 2021. This program aspires to tap into this growing trend and foster the talents needed to advance the automotive industry.

Background

The Automotive Apprentice Program spans 18 to 24 months, providing participants with a broad learning experience combining online and classroom training. Apprentices gain access to over 400 NAPA Autotech eLearning resources, allowing them to expand their knowledge at their own pace while participating in custom training sessions.

Throughout the program, apprentices can earn ASE certifications, including G1, A4, A5, and A/C. Additionally, each apprentice has the option to purchase a custom tool set equipped with the professional tools necessary to jumpstart their technician journey.
