Leesburg, Va.—The ASE Education Foundation is hosting a free professional development webinar on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “ASE Auto Standards Updates.”
In this webinar, Mike Coley, George Arrants and Marlo Miranda with the ASE Education Foundation will review the 2024 updates to ASE standards for automobile program accreditation. These updates were developed in February 2024 by a workshop panel of high school and college educators, along with experts from automakers, dealers, independent repair shops and retail chains. The changes were approved by the ASE Board of Directors in June and are required for all accreditation applications submitted after December 31, 2024.
This one-hour free webinar will review the significant changes that were made, including the addition of high voltage/EV system safety and service tasks and changes to the tools and equipment lists. Other changes affect the requirement for instructors to hold the ASE G1 certification and limits on advisory committee members serving as on-site evaluation team members.
Evaluation Team Leaders (ETL) are key to the success of ASE accreditation and the session will highlight how becoming an ETL can benefit instructors and their programs. There will also be a review of the new process that allows students who pass ASE entry-level tests to earn an ASE G1 certification at no additional cost.
