2024 Vision Conference to spotlight industry research and analysis

Two separate sessions will focus on AI in the automotive aftermarket and improving CEO leadership capabilities and understanding

Research Triangle Park, N.C.—The newly-released agenda for the 2024 MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Vision Conference will feature two sessions focusing on research, analysis, and industry insights to help inform aftermarket suppliers on key areas of their business.

Experts from Roland Berger will share information from the MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers Landmark Study “Profitable Deployment of AI in the Automotive Aftermarket” in a session by the same name. Produced in conjunction with the research firm, the study can help members cut through all the hype around artificial intelligence (AI) and learn how the technology can optimize operating models, KPI benefits, and P&L. Presenting from Roland Berger will be:

  • Barry Neal – Managing Partner
  • Neury Freitas – Partner

The session will include a brief overview of the types of AI and their application; real use cases of AI by automotive aftermarket service, distribution, and suppliers; and a short list of actions MEMA members can take today to choose and execute an AI project. The full study will be available to members after the presentation at Vision.

“MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers’ Landmark Studies are an exclusive member benefit,” said Philip Atkins, director of Strategic Research & Planning at MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association. “We are happy to have Barry and Neury join us at Vision to provide an in-depth breakdown of the study, which will be available to members after the conference.”

Another insights-focused session at this year’s Vision Conference will be with MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers’ Modern Industry eXpertise (MiX) council. Members of the council will present and panel discussion on its latest MiX Insights whitepaper: “Top Five Areas CEOs Can Improve Understanding.” The session, titled “5 Topics CEOs Just Don’t Understand,” which will delve into the five areas the council identified where CEOs can benefit from further understanding and improvement.

“The Modern Industry eXpertise council aims to be a resource for CEOs seeking to elevate their leadership capabilities with insights and solutions provided by our reverse mentoring council,” said Nikki Rankin, director of Councils & Engagement at MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. “The latest whitepaper identifies five areas where they may benefit from further understanding and improvement.”

The session will be moderated by Jeff O’Hara, director of Sales Retail Markets, Automotive Batteries, at East Penn Manufacturing and chair of MiX. Panelists will include:

  • Colin Foster – Zone Sales Manager, Gates
  • Andrew Peckham – Division Care Tech & Trade Marketing Specialist, Valeo
  • Elisse Richardson – District Sales Manager, DriV
