Raleigh, N.C.—The Advance Auto Parts Foundation is expanding its support for Florida’s future workforce through a series of gifts totaling $330,000 to technical colleges across the state.
The gifts include $120,000 to Hillsborough College in Tampa, $110,000 to Orange Technical College in Orlando and $100,000 to McFatter Technical College & High School in Broward County.
“Across Florida and the nation, the demand for skilled automotive technicians continues to grow,” said Anthony Sarlanis, Senior Vice President, Professional, at Advance Auto Parts. “By partnering with technical colleges and workforce programs, we’re proud to help students access the certifications, tools and real-world training they need to succeed while strengthening the pipeline of talent for the automotive service industry.”
A key focus of the foundation’s support is expanding access to Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications. Donations at each of the three schools will help cover these exam costs as well as provide professional-grade tools and equipment, instructional materials and hands-on training. The foundation’s support will help students earn certifications, prepare for careers in the field, and build confidence and job readiness.
Over the last several years, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation has contributed more than $5 million to support workforce development, education and training for automotive and diesel technicians nationwide.
Advance Auto Parts also makes donations to local community and technical colleges and their automotive service or workforce development programs in connection with new store and market hub openings in communities where the company is expanding and areas where Advance has had a presence for years.
