Acquisition of Downriver Bus & Truck Repair in Brownstown Township unites two companies with more than 80 years of experience
Brownstown, Mich.—Kerry Brothers Truck Repair, a Metro Detroit-based family-owned fleet service provider, has acquired Downriver Bus & Truck Repair in Brownstown Township.
The move unites two companies with more than 80 years of combined experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair. Downriver Bus & Truck Repair, founded by Ira C. Dickey 40 years ago and operated by his son Tim Dickey the past 30, specializes in bus, truck, and RV repair, as well as parts supply through its Michigan Bus Parts division.
Dickey, who is stepping back to begin his next chapter, said the decision to sell to Kerry Brothers was grounded in shared values and a mutual respect for family ownership.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to see Downriver become part of the Kerry Brothers family,” he said. “They share our same values of honesty, craftsmanship, and treating customers like family. Knowing our employees are staying on and our customers will continue to receive the same great service gives me complete peace of mind.”
Kerry Brothers Truck Repair, led by owner Bill Kerry, operates five full-service locations with more than 40 technicians, extended hours, and 24/7 roadside support. The acquisition marks the company’s third expansion as part of a larger regional growth strategy.
Under the acquisition, all Downriver employees have been retained, ensuring continuity for customers and smooth integration into Kerry Brothers’ fleet-focused operations.
