The Spanish translation of Basic CTS is the first in a new multi-year initiative to translate all TIA’s training and certification programs into the language
Bowie, Md. – The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has announced that the Spanish translation of the 200-Level Basic Commercial Tire Service (CTS) program is now available in workbook and video format as well as online thru the Online University.
TIA members who subscribe to Basic CTS in English through the Online University will automatically have access to the program in Spanish at no additional charge.
“Our commercial members have been asking for an updated version of Basic CTS in Spanish so they can provide employees who speak Spanish with the same level of training as those employees who speak English,” said Dick Gust, TIA CEO. “Basic CTS is used to comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training regulations so translating the latest version of Basic CTS into Spanish has been a top priority for TIA’s training and education committee.”
The Spanish translation of Basic CTS is the first in a new multi-year initiative to translate all TIA’s training and certification programs into Spanish. Demand from domestic members has been growing while interest from Central and South America in addition to the Caribbean has increased over the years.
“We are fortunate to have a translation team led by Jose Moreno, TIA’s Tire Service Training Manager,” said Kevin Rohlwing, TIA Chief Technical Officer. “Having a bilingual trainer on staff with more than a decade of experience as a technician makes the Spanish translation initiative possible. Once the translations are complete, Jose will be teaching Certified Instructor classes in Spanish with translations of the videos and manuals that mirror the English versions.”
Certified CTS is in the process of being translated into Spanish with release scheduled for mid-to-late 2026 followed by Basic ATS and then Certified ATS. TIA’s training and education committee has set the goal of translating all the association’s training programs into Spanish including Earthmover Tire Service (ETS), Farm Tire Service (FTS) and Industrial Tire Service (ITS) over the next 5-6 years.
Updates to existing training programs in English will be immediately followed by Spanish translations to maintain consistency in TIA’s training and certification offerings.
