The dealership is offering two emergency relief programs exclusively for government employees impacted by the shutdown
Washington, D.C.—As a federal government shutdown threatens thousands of employees across the the Washington metropolitan area, Koons Motors has announced a comprehensive support initiative aimed at easing the burden on local workers affected by the disruption.
Founded in 1958 and still operating as a privately held family business, Koons Motors is offering two emergency relief programs exclusively for government employees impacted by the shutdown:
Free In Home Oil Change and Service
Federal employees who own a Ford, Lincoln, or Mazda vehicle can now schedule a free oil change, tire rotation and inspection, performed by certified Koons technicians at the employee’s home.
These vehicles do not need to have been purchased from a Koons dealership. Any furloughed government employee that owns a Ford, Lincoln or Mazda is eligible. The Koons Mobile Service team will be at full readiness to be deployed to all affected government employees’ homes.
The service includes:
• Full oil change
• Tire rotation
• Multi-point inspection with technician video
• Digital winter-readiness inspection report
“We know how difficult and uncertain shutdowns can be for federal families,” said Alex Perdikis, CEO of Koons Motors. “This is our way of saying thank you — and taking care of the people who keep our region and country running.”
Koons Will Cover Car Payments Until the Government Reopens
For furloughed federal employees in need of a new or used vehicle, Koons will make the monthly payments on any purchase during the shutdown period until the government officially reopens.
• Applies to all new and used vehicle purchases.
• Must present a valid federal government ID.
• Available at all Koons Motors locations, contact dealers for details and restrictions.
Koons Motors has long supported its neighbors during moments of national uncertainty, including during previous shutdowns and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We are part of this community. We’ve been here for over 65 years, and we’re not going anywhere,” said Perdikis. “We will always be here for the people who serve our country. These same people have been the loyal clients that fostered our growth over the decades.”
