"It is unlikely that we will make up all of the production lost during the shutdowns, but vehicle manufacturers are working through previously schedule summer vacation shutdowns to try and catch up," NADA reports.
The 'red-hot' crossover segment claimed 43.4 percent of the total market. NADA expects new-vehicle sales will decline slightly in 2020, closing out the year with sales of 16.8 million units.
