GB Remanufacturing hosts APRA in celebration of Global Reman Day

Reman Day aims to raise awareness for the remanufacturing industry and its often overlooked benefits for consumers, the economy, and the environment

Long Beach, Calif.—GB Remanufacturing celebrated Reman Day with remanufacturers around the world on April 13. Reman Day aims to raise awareness for the remanufacturing industry and its often overlooked benefits for consumers, the economy and the environment.

Remanufacturing is a standardized industrial process by which previously sold, worn, or non-functional products are returned to same-as-new, or better, condition and performance. The complex and stringent remanufacturing process is in line with specific technical specifications, including engineering, quality, and testing standards. The process yields fully warranted products that meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Team GB Reman wears their green shirts every Thursday throughout April in recognition of remanufacturing.

“This year we were honored to host APRA (Automotive Parts Remanufacturers Association) to take part in our annual Reman Day celebration,” said Michael Kitching, GB Remanufacturing’s president and CEO. “We have been a proud member of the association since 1990, and it was exciting to showcase our intricate remanufacturing process with APRA President Joe Kripli, a long-time industry friend of ours.”

At GB Reman, the day culminated in a company-wide event where employees gathered to celebrate and learn about the impact of their work. “We believe it is important to educate our team about the significance of what we do every single day,” continued Kitching. “We take pride in our remanufacturing process, the premium products we produce, and the impact that we have on the world around us. Reman Day celebrates our role as a remanufacturer and motivates us to constantly pursue innovation throughout our process and our products.”

Since 1986, the remanufacturing process at GB Remanufacturing has prevented over 500,000 kilowatt hours of energy usage, 2.4 million pounds of steel from being produced and 780,000 pounds of CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere.
