EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a letter from Hands of The Carpenter, whose mission is to offer hope to single women with dependent children, while providing automobile services, partnering in their efforts to remain employed and to strive toward economic self-sufficiency. Dear Community Supporter:
I hope this note finds you and your business doing well. Life here at Hands of The Carpenter (Hands) is good. The team is busy working on single mom’s cars and prepping donated vehicles for placement with ladies who need safe and reliable transportation.
Since 2003 Hands has been serving women who live across Jefferson County and now we are reaching out to those in neighboring counties, and are preparing to open a second auto repair facility in Aurora. Hands’ mission is to offer hope to single women with dependent children, while providing automobile services, partnering in their efforts to remain employed and to strive toward economic self-sufficiency.
I am writing today with an invitation and a request. On Sunday, June 5th Hands’ 2022 road rally will occur: Jackpot on the Blacktop – Poker Run. This event is being supported by the good folks at Automobili Rally and Hands’ staff and volunteers. We are expecting an increase from last year’s 28 cars to 75-100 participants paying $225 per car. You can review information about the Poker Run on Hands’ website (handsofthecarpenter.org/events), as well as see what else Hands is up to this year.
Please consider sponsoring this event at the level that is possible for you, and consider joining in on the fun. Your company’s contribution will support the minimal expenses to provide these experiences. More importantly, funds will be used directly to provide services for working single moms who are caring for children or grandchildren, and or who need their cars to maintain their employment and self-sufficiency.
