Longtime automotive technology instructor receives national award

Dan Beeson is one of only 32 instructors nationwide to take home award from the American Association of Community Colleges

Bellingham, Wash.—Longtime Bellingham Technical College (BTC) Automotive Technology Instructor Dan Beeson received a Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition Award from the American Association of Community Colleges.

Beeson is one of only 32 instructors nationwide to receive this year’s award. He has been teaching at BTC for 29 years, and he has been instrumental in training the community’s automotive workforce, with a focus on hands-on lab training and partnerships that provide real-world experience for students.

“I have had the privilege of supporting many students over my almost three decades of teaching,” Beeson said. “I have watched students mature and grow, not only in their technical competence but in their personal lives as well. As students build confidence, I have repeatedly witnessed transformations that completely change their life’s trajectory.

“The pride I feel watching them graduate and begin the journey into their careers fuels my passion year after year.”
