New online marketplace launches to drive CTDA tire sales

Consumers locate area dealers, view real-time tire inventory, complete tire purchase and schedule installation appointment

Sacramento, Calif.—At its recent Fresno-area meeting, the California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) announced an initiative to create a consumer-facing online tire marketplace intended to drive sales to CTDA member dealers.

The website will be developed by CTDA annual sponsor TireTutor, and will allow consumers to locate CTDA member dealers in their area, view the dealer’s real-time tire inventory, complete the tire purchase, and schedule an installation appointment with the dealer.

TireTutor’s Wade MacNamara was on hand at the meeting to share details about the website and answer questions from attendees.

“The online tire marketplace will be a game changer for CTDA and its members, providing a platform for CTDA’s independent tire dealers to compete in the online space with the much larger national tire chains,” said CTDA President Chris Barry of the Independent Tire Dealer Group.

“We are thrilled to partner with CTDA and power software that allows their members to reach online tire shoppers and ultimately win the sale,” said TireTutor founder and CEO Jason Abrahams.

“The CTDA Board and staff thoroughly vetted and evaluated TireTutor and their services before reaching the decision that they were the right partner and the right product for this initiative,” stated CTDA Vice President Billy Eordekian of 1-800EveryRim – OEM Wheels.

The meeting was attended by numerous Fresno area tire retailers and distributors, and was sponsored by TireTutor, RoboTire, 1-800EveryRim – OEM Wheels, Yokohama, USAutoForce, NTW, and ATD.

In addition to the tire marketplace announcement, meeting attendees participated in a roundtable discussion about finding and retaining quality employees, and received an update on CTDA’s advocacy efforts, including legislation and the California Energy Commission’s low-rolling resistance tire standards.

The California Tire Dealers Association (CTDA) represents more than 100 independent tire dealers, wholesale tire distributors and vendors statewide.
