Free webinar to present a “toolkit” for the automotive aftermarket to prep companies for the state’s packaging law which is unlike any other in the U.S.
Bethesda, Md.—The Auto Care Association has announced it will host an additional webinar on the upcoming Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting deadline in California.
The webinar, “Meet your November 15 California Packaging EPR Reporting Deadline – A Toolkit for the Automotive Aftermarket,” will take place Thursday, Oct. 23, from 2 – 3 p.m. ET.
November 15 marks the first reporting deadline for California’s Packaging EPR program. This initial report will establish your company’s baseline packaging data — the foundation for future packaging reduction and recyclability requirements.
California’s EPR law is unlike any other in the United States, covering 95 types of packaging materials and setting measurable reduction targets over time. PARTSLIFE, the Product Stewardship Institute (PSI) and the Auto Care Association have developed guidance and tools to help industry professionals understand the law, the environmental goals behind it, and what producers in the automotive aftermarket must do to comply.
The webinar will provide a practical, hour-long session that breaks down the California Packaging EPR Toolkit, step-by-step reporting guidance and what’s coming next across other EPR states.
Webinar attendees will conclude the session with key takeaways
- Determining if they are obligated in California.
- Understanding which packaging is reportable in California.
- Learning about the unique obligations of the California law, like reducing the amount of packaging and requirements for recyclability or compost-ability.
