DENSO captures APA’s 2021 Supplier of the Year Award

APA Chairman Douglas Squires called DENSO “the returning favorite” among APA shareholders who voted to give the company their top honor for the second consecutive year

Long Beach, Calif.—DENSO Products and Services Americas, Inc. has been named 2021 Supplier of Year by Automotive Parts Associates (APA) Inc. APA is a cooperative made up of approximately 60 independent auto parts and warehouse distributors with more than 400 retail stores across North America and more than $500 million in annual purchasing power.

APA announced this year’s awards in a celebratory sports-themed video. APA Chairman of the Board of Directors Douglas Squires called DENSO “the returning favorite” among APA shareholders who voted to give the company their top honor for the second consecutive year.

Senior Manager of Aftermarket Sales Jose Ramirez and National Program Distribution Manager David Arriaga accepted the award on DENSO’s behalf. Earning APA’s recognition after what has been a difficult year for everyone is a profound honor, Ramirez said. “The success we’ve experienced with the APA family this year has been remarkable.”

DENSO’s more than 170,000 employees around the globe made the award possible, Arriaga said. “It takes a monumental effort and team to earn such a monumental award. Now it’s time for Jose and I and the DENSO team to focus on 2021 so we can make it even bigger and better.”

DENSO has captured eight top APA awards in the last 10 years. The honors are based on outstanding service to APA shareholders and support of their initiatives.

Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Lenexa, Kan., APA is one of the auto industry’s oldest program distribution groups operating as a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative. APA announced the awards in conjunction with its shareholder and supplier conference held annually in March.
