McGovern Auto Group opens largest dealer-owned collision center in US

The 75,000-square-foot facility features 40 bays and is recruiting to grow its 30-person team by 50 percent

Shrewsbury, Mass.—McGovern Auto Group (MAG), Northeast automotive retailer, has announced the grand opening of the MAG Collision Center, McGovern’s new flagship body shop. Located at 420 Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury, the featured a 75,000-square-foot facility with 40 bays.

The center’s repair bays can accommodate any passenger or commercial vehicle and also houses four downdraft-enabled paint booths and separate paint system for fleet and commercial vehicles.

As the single largest auto body shop in the Northeast and the biggest dealer-owned collision center nationwide, the MAG Collision Center represents a multimillion-dollar investment. The facility is certified or currently pending certification with all of their dealership brands including BMW, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Ferrari, and more.

For fleet customers, the MAG Collision Center offers a dedicated 60-foot truck paint booth and prep deck to cater to heavy truck, emergency vehicles, tractor trailers, dumptrucks or equipment repair needs. This capability underpins the shop’s readiness to serve commercial customers across a diverse range of industries while positioning itself as acollision service provider for Massachusett’s municipalities.

The MAG Collision Center will also be home to McGovern’s transport and vehicle mobility division, McGovern Transport, housing its fleet of 14 trucks. With regional growth planned for McGovern’s vehicle transportation services, MAG Collision said it will play an integral role in keeping the division’s trucks meticulously maintained while recruiting top CDL driving talent.
