Mueller-Kueps launches NOX sensor thread restorer kit

Universal use for light and heavy duty diesel engines, technicians can restore the NOX sensor hole thread without damaging exhaust systems

Duluth, Ga.—Removing the old NOX sensor comes with an almost universal problem, taking it out usually damages the threads which due to the extreme temperature differences and carbonization is almost inevitable.

A normal tap will be too long inside narrow spaces and can damage the structure of the exhaust, or it can go in on an angle which gives the new sensor a wrong mounting angle and position within the exhaust. The Mueller-Kueps NOX Sensor Thread Restorer Kit helps technicians restore the threads, the company stated in a news release.

Universal use for light and heavy duty diesel engines, this tool allows technicians to restore the NOX sensor hole thread without damaging the exhaust system. Featuring an alignment guide at the front of the restorer to ensure proper angle. Extra short, this tool can be used with a socket or ratchet spanner for narrow spaces. This tool will save shops time and money by reducing the time spent repairing threads, as well as ensuring they do not need to purchase complete new exhaust system, stated Mueller-Kueps.

It can also be used for the diesel particulate filter, as well as any exhaust sensor, and those located in a catalytic convertor. Available in sizes M20 x 1.5 and M22 x 1.5.
