Product brings efficiency improvements to EVs, achieving a 30% reduction in friction compared to current market competitors
Gothenburg, Sweden—SKF Automotive has introduced its latest innovation in wheel bearing technology, the Ultra-Low Friction Wheel Bearing. Aimed primarily at passenger vehicles, this product integrates new features into an existing bearing design, maintaining industry standards while offering improvements. It brings efficiency improvements to electric vehicles (EVs), achieving a 30% reduction in friction compared to current market competitors.
This third generation (GEN 3) wheel bearing features an internal geometry, a dflange shape, low-friction grease, SKF’s proprietary low-friction seal, optimized preload range and a lightweight design.
The reduction in friction translates into more efficient use of energy in customers’ vehicles, increasing battery range in terms of miles per charge.
