Free ASE service technician webinar: ‘Modern Ignition Technology and Tips’

The ignition system is not what it used to be and affect the in-cylinder temperature and pressure which require it to adapt to maintain performance

Leesburg, Va.—The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 4 p.m. ET, entitled, “Modern Ignition Technology and Tips.”

The ignition system is not what it used to be. These changes affect the in-cylinder temperature and pressure which require the ignition system to adapt to maintain performance. Today’s technicians are required to stay up to date on the latest automotive technologies and diagnostic strategies.

In this webinar, Philip Austin with Niterra (formerly NGK) will cover the following key points:

  • Update on spark plug technology and “high ignitability” spark plug designs.
  • Advances in ignition coils and ignition system control.
  • Troubleshooting two, three and four-pin ignition coils on plug type coils.
  • Develop a diagnostic strategy based on the root cause instead of the effect (MIL) to reduce comebacks and ensure fixing it right the first time.

Participants in this webinar will receive a certificate of attendance at the live session. Allow one week for automatic email delivery of the certificate.

After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing information about joining the webinar. Those who are not sure if they can attend are encouraged to register as they will receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available.
