ASCCA Chapter 48 to host Ford Powerstroke 6.7L training, Saturday, Feb. 22, in Brea

Brea. Calif.—Automotive Service councils of California (ASCCA)’s Chapter 48 will hold a Ford Powerstroke 6.7L training event, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Embassy Suites, 900 E . Birch St., in Brea, Feb. 22.

The course objective is: Given the service information, tools and vehicle, the technician will follow a diagnostic strategy to repair and service various driveability issues found on a Ford truck equipped with the Powerstroke 6.7L.

Instructor Tony Salas, of Powertrain Training, will emphasize the importance of using service information and procedures. He will display live scan data using the IDS Ford scan tool and review case studies. Bi-directional controls and typical PIDS will be taught, as will electrical and pressure testing of the subsystems of the 6.7L engine. This includes understanding the permanent code and aftermarket issues brought on by fuel and oil additives. Training also includes proper engine oil and fuel filter maintenance.
