This four-day conference provides opportunities to explore how fellow educators are tackling the latest technologies
Gladstone, Mo.—Registration is now open for the 2026 Automotive Educators Conference (AEC), hosted by the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) in partnership with the California Automotive Teachers (CAT).
The event will take place June 15–18, 2026, at American River College’s brand-new automotive facility in Sacramento, California.
The AEC is designed specifically for automotive educators, offering hands-on training, innovative teaching strategies and the chance to connect with instructors who understand the challenges and rewards of teaching future technicians.
This four-day conference provides opportunities to explore how fellow educators are tackling the latest technologies — from electric and hybrid vehicles to artificial intelligence — while finding new ways to make complex technical content engaging and memorable for students. Over 20 continuing education credit hours are also available to fulfill your ASE Educational Foundation requirements.
“Every instructor has felt like they’re teaching in isolation — trying to keep up with new technology, curriculum changes, and student needs all at once,” said Ed Martin, Automotive Instructor at Pickens College and president of NACAT. “The Automotive Educators Conference changes that. It’s where educators find their community, share solutions, and leave with tools they can use the very next semester. With our partnership with CAT and a cutting-edge host facility, AEC 2026 will be our most dynamic event yet.”
Educators who register by Dec. 1, will receive free admission to the California Auto Museum during a special Wednesday evening networking event. NACAT also offers a customizable Letter to Administration to assist attendees in gaining school approval, and a purchase order (PO) option is available during registration.
