Parts Authority acquires longtime Northwest parts distributor

Southwest Washington-based Cost Less Auto Parts acquisition adds four new Parts Authority locations in Washington and Oregon markets

Vancouver, Wash.—In a deal that closed Dec. 3, Parts Authority acquired automotive parts retailer and wholesaler Cost Less Parts, a subsidiary of Automotive Products, which has been in business for more than 80 years. The acquisition adds four new locations to Parts Authority’s quiver in the region.

“We feel very fortunate to partner with a great company and fellow Pronto member. Parts Authority’s focus on their team members, customers, and vendors made them a perfect fit for us,” said Patrick Hortsch, owner of Cost Less Auto Parts and Automotive Products. “We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it presents in the Pacific Northwest.”

Both companies — Automotive Products and Cost Less — will continue to be operated by Alex Hortsch, son of Patrick Hortsch, under the Parts Authority umbrella.

“This acquisition allows us to significantly expand our ability to service more customers in the Western United States,” said Randy Buller, president and CEO of Parts Authority. “Cost Less has stellar leadership and a rich automotive aftermarket history. Their unique business model has built a phenomenal reputation in Washington and Oregon making them a great addition to the Parts Authority family.”

Parts Authority has more than 250 locations across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Pacific Northwest and Southwest.
