Mitchell 1 enhances search capabilities with ‘Did You Mean’ feature

Upgrade helps techs and service writers find the right information faster by suggesting corrected industry terms when typos or extra characters are entered

San Diego—Mitchell 1 has enhanced its award-winning 1Search Plus dashboard in its ProDemand | ShopKey Pro auto repair software with a new feature called “Did You Mean.”

This upgrade helps technicians and service writers find the right information faster by automatically suggesting corrected industry terms when typos or extra characters are entered in the search bar.

“A single mistyped word shouldn’t slow down a repair,” said Nick DiVerde, senior director of product management at Mitchell 1. “We know how critical it is for technicians and service writers to get accurate information quickly. With ‘Did You Mean,’ 1Search Plus becomes even more powerful, ensuring every search gets them closer to the right fix. That means faster repairs, more satisfied customers and greater productivity in the shop.”

Searching for the right repair information can often be derailed by a single mistyped character. With “Did You Mean,” users no longer waste time retyping or guessing. The new functionality goes beyond standard type-ahead features by acting as a smart safety net that keeps searches on track.

For example, the term “alternator” is frequently misspelled in search queries, appearing as alteranator, altenator, alternater, altanator or altinator. With “Did You Mean,” 1Search Plus suggests the correct spelling so users stay on track without wasting time.

DiVerde added, “With this enhancement, Mitchell 1 reinforces its commitment to delivering the industry’s most powerful and accurate search experience for auto repair professionals.”
