Hunter Engineering announces retirement of longtime sales executive John Zentz

Throughout his career, Zentz earned Hunter’s President’s Club Award seven times and co-authored Hunter’s Strategic Selling Program

St. Louis—Hunter Engineering has announce the retirement of Senior Vice President of Global Sales John Zentz, effective Dec. 31.

“Known throughout the industry, Zentz’s tenure at Hunter has been defined by leadership, integrity and an unwavering commitment to Hunter’s employees, customers and success,” stated Hunter Engineering in a news release.

Zentz’s Hunter journey began in 1995 as a sales representative in Baltimore, Md., and was promoted to Regional Manager and moved to Charlotte, N.C ., three years later,. Zentz was further promoted to Southeast Division Manager in 2000.

In 2008, he arrived at Hunter’s St. Louis headquarters to assume the role of Vice President of Sales. By 2018, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Global Sales, where he led and shaped Hunter’s global commercial business with distinction.

“For more than 25 years, John has set the winning tone, spirit and standard at Hunter Engineering,” said Beau Brauer, President of Hunter Engineering. “Across Hunter’s 1,000-plus representatives and customers around the world, John is celebrated as an extraordinary leader, trusted mentor, consummate professional and dear friend.”

Throughout his career, Zentz earned Hunter’s President’s Club Award seven times and co-authored Hunter’s Strategic Selling Program.

Additionally, Zentz has been active in industry affairs, serving eight years as a board member for the North Carolina Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association. Currently he is a board member for the Safe Tread Alliance.

“Beyond building the strongest field leadership team in our industry, John also expanded Hunter’s North American team by more than 300 positions,” said Larry Watson, Vice President of Sales. “His relentless drive, belief in people and commitment to teamwork have left an indelible mark on Hunter. John’s legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.”

For the near future, John and wife Julie plan to spend more time with their son, Johnny, in Chicago, and daughter, Allison, in Dallas.
