Gladstone, Mo. and Leesburg, Va.—SkillsUSA and the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) are teaming up to provide a unique professional development opportunity for automotive educators during the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference.
On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, automotive educators from across the country will gather for an educator-led roundtable designed to share best practices, classroom strategies, and industry insights. Participants will receive a certificate of completion to recognize their commitment to advancing automotive education.
“SkillsUSA is proud to work alongside NACAT to elevate professional development opportunities for automotive educators,” said Chelle Travis, SkillsUSA executive director. “This roundtable is not just about networking—it’s about equipping instructors with tools and ideas they can immediately take back to their classrooms and labs to positively impact their students.”
The roundtable will be facilitated by automotive instructors themselves, ensuring discussions are relevant, practical, and peer-driven.
“Our mission at NACAT has always been for automotive teachers, by automotive teachers which supports educators shaping the next generation of automotive professionals,” said Heather Sebben, Business Manager of NACAT. “By partnering with SkillsUSA, we are able to reach more instructors and celebrate the power of collaboration among educators.”
In the roundtable event, industry and education partners are invited to support this initiative through sponsorship of NACAT. Sponsorship not only supports the roundtable but also demonstrates a commitment to strengthening automotive education nationwide.
Educators interested in participating in the roundtable—and organizations interested in sponsoring—can contact Heather Sebben at heather@nacat.org for details.
