AASP/NJ’s annual meeting to feature open discussion, board election and awards

Executive director says it is a “must-attend meeting” for any repairer who has concerns to share about the current state of the industry

Nutley, N.J.—It’s time for Garden State repairers to mark their calendars for the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey’s (AASP/NJ) Annual Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 6:30 p.m. at the Gran Centurions in Clark, N.J.

Following its fall kickoff meeting in September, AASP/NJ’s 2022 Annual Meeting will piggyback on last May’s “Town Hall” meeting where repair professionals gathered to talk shop and solutions. AASP/NJ will once again welcome all to speak their minds, share experiences and collaborate during this event.

As AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant explains, this is a must-attend meeting for any repairer who has concerns to share about the current state of the industry.

“This industry has been absolutely turned upside down since the pandemic,” Bryant said. “This meeting will provide an opportunity to air frustrations and find answers to many of those problems. Stop moaning and groaning about the state of the industry — come to this meeting and do something about it. ”

Along with the Town Hall and following the association’s board of directors elections, AASP/NJ will provide an update on latest association benefits, including the AASP/NJ health insurance plan, followed by a discussion on navigating the rapidly evolving credit card surcharge issue. The meeting will also be a celebratory gathering, as AASP/NJ honors some of its own with its annual awards presentation. The 2022 Russ Robson Scholarship Award will be given to an aspiring repair professional employed by a member shop. The Stan Wilson/New Jersey Automotive Body Shop of the Year Award will be granted to an outstanding body shop for its contributions to the association and the industry-at-large, and one influential industry individual will be selected as the next member of the AASP/NJ Hall of Fame.

The cost to attend is $35 per member shop/company or $75 per non-member attendee. Dinner will be included. For more information on AASP/NJ and its upcoming events, visit aaspnj.org.
