The ASA Illinois board of directors voted unanimously to join forces with the Midwest Auto Care Alliance
Gladstone, Mo.—After having their affiliate terminated by the national office of the Automotive Service Association (ASA), the ASA Illinois board of directors voted unanimously to join forces with the Midwest Auto Care Alliance (MWACA). MWACA has already created a Greater Chicagoland Chapter.
Once the ASA Illinois affiliate dissolves on Jan. 1, 2022, the same board leadership and local staffing, with guidance and support from the MWACA executive director and staff, will assume the chapter’s leadership.
“ASA Illinois is extremely proud of our past and present efforts to bring value to our members in Illinois,” said Dave Hinz, board president for ASA Illinois and owner of Mastertek Auto Repair, Algonquin, Ill. “We want our members to know that while ASA National is changing its structure, we will continue to focus our energies on bringing the best value and support to our local independent automotive repair shop owners.”
“It is for this reason that we are very excited to announce we are teaming up with the Midwest Auto Care Alliance (MWACA) to form a Greater Chicagoland Chapter! Our new alliance with MWACA will allow us to deliver so much more value and member benefits and at a lower cost to the shop owners.”
ASA Illinois members can begin their membership in MWACA immediately, with an introductory special to join for $250 for the first year if they sign up by Oct. 31.
“Members will immediately begin seeing and experiencing the great benefits, programs, and services that MWACA is known for. We are excited about the addition of this group to MWACA and look forward to offering the great Midwest hospitality and service that members desire,” said Tim Davison, MWACA president and owner of Chumbley’s Auto Care in Indianola Iowa.

Membership benefits include auto parts rebate programs, health insurance, early VISION registration, free ACT Auto Staffing account, and a print subscription to the association’s quarterly publication, MWACA Magazine.
In addition to these and other money-saving benefits, members will have access to the MWACA app, which offers more than 100 management and technical courses, the MWACA Exchange events, and other virtual training and roundtable events for members only.

With the recent announcement of ASA Northwest joining MWACA as Northwest Auto Care Alliance (NWACA) and the MWACA Greater Chicagoland Chapter, the Auto Care Alliance group is projected to have a combined membership of more than 900 shop members.
