- Follow-up gap creates missed opportunities: Over two-thirds have either had a repair shop recommend repairs or maintenance but never follow up (38%), or they don’t recall whether or not they received a follow-up (32%), despite 73% saying automated maintenance reminders would be valuable.
- Digital convenience matters most to younger car owners: 75% of car owners say search engine reviews and a professional website are critical in choosing a shop (with 18- to 34-year-olds being more likely to say this than those age 35+), and 73% would likely use online booking if their preferred shop offered it (82% among those age 18-34).
