‘Oregon’s Car Care’ program allows police officers to issue store vouchers to motorists with equipment violations
Salem, Ore.—The Oregon State Police, through a partnership with the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association and the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police, has expanded its “Car Care” program to “Oregon’s Car Care” program with participating auto parts stores.
The program allows all city police officers, county sheriff deputies, and all Oregon State Police Troopers the ability to issue “Oregon Car Care” vouchers to motorists stopped for certain vehicle equipment violations.
Approximately 77 percent of violations from Oregon State Police are due to “Operating without Required Lighting.” Required lighting includes all external lighting such as blinkers, headlights, and tail lights.
Vouchers provide a 20-percent discount on automotive parts purchased at participating auto parts stores, below:
