Automotive Service Symposium kicks off today in New York City with a spectrum of industry experts and topics

Schwartz Advisors and Piper Sandler is co-hosting their first investor conference, focused on the Do-It-For-Me aftermarket

New York—Schwartz Advisors and Piper Sandler is co-hosting their first investor conference today in New York City, the Automotive Service Symposium, focused on the Do-It-For-Me (DIFM) aftermarket. The event is taking place at The Pierre Hotel.

Experts from across industry segments will lead discussions and presentations throughout the event’s general session, which kicks off with breakfast and opening remarks from Piper Sandler’s managing director, Treavor Hill, and Schwartz Advisors CEO and managing partner, Rick Schwartz.

A panel discussion soon follows — “Leadership Perspectives on Current Trends in Vehicle Repair & Service” — featuring Jim Dykstra, CEO of Dytech Auto Group; James LaNeve, CEO, Ben Tire Distributors; and Eric Frankenberger, president, Oil Changers.

Schwartz Advisor’s Derek Kaufman will give his forward-looking presentation, “The Aftermarket’s Next 30 Years,” in a morning that also sees a fireside chat with Repairify’s Chris Hollingsworth on Data Driven Repair, RoboTire’s Victor Darolfi discussing “Service Disruptor: Automation in the Bays,” and a panel on “Cleaning Up with Car Washes.”

After a networking lunch, the afternoon session will lead off with Predii founder and CEO, Tilak Kasturi, who will present “Service Disruptor: How AI Will Improve the Repair and Service Dynamic,” and a presentation by Bain Company associates and CarMagic CEO David Sturtz, “Customer Engagement in Vehicle Services: The Converging OE Dealer and Aftermarket Ecosystem.”

Attendees will learn how Les Schwab Tire Centers grew from a single store into a regional powerhouse in the afternoon’s fireside chat with the company’s Corey Parks, chief administrative officer and EVP, and shop owners and managers will glean insights into best practices with CYTK’s Jill Trotta in her presentation, “Service Disruptor: The Future of Technician Training and Efficiency.

For the heavy duty segment, Auto Care Association’s Bill Hanvey will moderate a panel of experts for “Trends and Opportunities in Heavy Duty and Fleet Services & Repair,” featuring Tina Hubbard, CEO of HDA Truck Pride; Edward Neeley, president of Truck Supply Company of South Carolina; and John Simmons, chairman and CEO of W.W. Williams Company.
