Stay-in-your-car oil change services company continues Western expansion with more to come
Richmond, Calif.—Driven Brands has announced that Take 5 Oil Change opened its first California location on Friday, Sept. 2. The franchised Bay Area site in Richmond, Calif., continues Take 5 Oil Change’s expansion west, following recent growth in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.
“We’re exceptionally proud of the Take 5 Oil Change brand and how consumers have responded to the service offering and customer experience,” said Danny Rivera, EVP and Group President of Maintenance at Driven Brands. “Our first location in California marks an important milestone for the company, and we look forward to continuing our growth in California and the West Coast.”
The new location is owned and managed by Automotive Services Holdings, LLC (ASH), which has future plans to open more Take 5 Oil Change stores in the region. ASH is headquartered in Las Vegas and is led by a team with extensive experience in property development, business management and hospitality.
Driven Brands acquired Take 5 Oil Change in 2016 and has built the brand from less than 70 locations to more than 750. The company first franchised the Take 5 model in 2017 and plans to open its 200th franchised location later this year.
“Take 5 is a great model for franchising given its unit-level economics and simple operating model,” Rivera said. “Our franchisees are sophisticated, multi-unit operators who understand the retail franchising business.”
He noted that Take 5’s “stay-in-your-car 10-minute oil change” service resonates with customers who are looking for service and convenience.
