Ernst & Young names Mike Black a regional winner, who will be considered for its national award in November

Bridgeton, Mo.—Ernst & Young (EY) has announced that President and CEO Mike Black of Dent Wizard International, based in Bridgeton, Mo., is an Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 Heartland Award winner. The Heartland program celebrates entrepreneurs from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.

“There are many successful entrepreneurs in this world, but building something of long-term value that improves the way we live, work and play takes grit, persistence and a sense of ambition where nothing is impossible,” said Dominic Iannazzo, EY’s Heartland Entrepreneur Of The Year Program Co-Director.

According to its website, Dent Wizard Smart Repairs is the largest provider of automotive reconditioning services with more than 1,600 technicians who service 4,000 customers. Services include paintless dent repair, bumper repair, wheel repair, windshield chip repair, chip and scratch repair, headlight brightening, and key programming and replacement services.

Nominees were evaluated based on six criteria, including overcoming adversity; financial performance; societal impact and commitment to building a values-based company; innovation; and talent management.

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 National Awards, to be announced Thursday, Nov. 19, during a virtual awards gala. The Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner will then move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in June 2021.
