Multi-generational business, Maaco Albuquerque, celebrates 15th anniversary

After retiring from the Albuquerque Public School District, Bill Jackson decided to pursue his lifelong passion for working with cars

Albuquerque, N.M.—Maaco Albuquerque, located in Albuquerque, N.M., is celebrating its 15th anniversary of business.

Owned by the Jackson family, Maaco Albuquerque has been a part of the community as a local body shop for 15 years. Bill Jackson started his career in the military and then went to work for the Albuquerque Public School District. After retiring from his position, Jackson decided to pursue his lifelong passion for working with cars.

“I had worked on cars as a hobby since I was 15, it came naturally to me,” he said. “After looking into various options, Maaco seemed like a good fit for us, so with the support of my wife and two sons, we opened this body shop.”

Maaco Albuquerque has been a family business since day one for the Jackson’s. Barbara Jackson helped manage finances, Billy Jackson the production manager for repairs, and Mike Jackson the general manager. The team attributes its staying power to its repair quality, friendly customer service, and ability to keep up with the changing industry.

“The automotive industry has changed a great deal over these past 15 years,” Jackson added. “Vehicles are filled with technology to keep us safe on the road, so as auto body repairers, we naturally have to update our capabilities to respond to these changes. Ensuring we have the latest training available enables us to continue providing the best in automotive repairs for our Albuquerque community. It is an exciting time for advancement though and I look forward to seeing what vehicle innovation will happen for our next generation.”

The Jackson’s have also welcomed the next generation into their operations, as Mike Jackson’s son, Brenden, has already begun working in the facility as an estimator.

“We are grateful to the Albuquerque community for supporting our local, family-owned business over the past 15 years. We look forward to making this a third-generation body shop and celebrating the next anniversary milestone with Albuquerque.”
