Aims Community College automotive students win medals at Colorado workforce development event

Two gold medalists will represent Colorado in the national competition in Atlanta this June

Colorado Springs, Colo.—Nine Aims Automotive Collision Repair and Refinishing Program students competed in the SkillsUSA State Competition held April 6-8 in Colorado Springs. The team won 11 medals in the statewide competition.

Two gold medalists will represent Colorado in the national competition in Atlanta this June. Jesse Manuel is a career academy student from Greeley Central High School and is in the Aims Collision Career Academy Refinishing program. Jamie Frey is a graduating Collision Repair and Refinishing student; she is employed at Gerber Collision Center in Greeley, Colo.

“Huge kudos go to instructor Mike Hanscome who is the driving force behind these students as the Aims SkillsUSA Collision advisor and coach,” said Fred Brown, Aims Automotive & Technology director. “He spent countless hours working with these students to hone skills that prepared them for the competition and those needed and judged by the industry. Additional thanks to Collision Instructor Kyle Cadarette and Automotive Coordinator Kimberly Johnson for their work, efforts, and support. This is a team win.”


Aims Community College automotive degree programs are nationally recognized and certified in secondary and post-secondary educational systems with accreditation provided by the National Automotive Technicians and Education Foundation.
