CAWA announces agreement with eCommerce and tech companies for new task force

The task force will be comprised of representation from suppliers, distributors, retailers, marketplaces, and solution providers

Sacramento, Calif.—One of CAWA’s most recent goals was to increase participation in the association by eCommerce and technology companies. It has now announced that through the work of board member Curt McDowell, of NA Williams Company, that the association has received agreement from the following companies to participate in a newly developed group in the association, called the eCommerce Task Force:

  • APA Engineering
  • eBay Motors
  • Newegg
  • Walmart, Inc.
  • Paramount Data Management Automotive
  • ShipStation
  • GCommerce
  • ChannelAdvisor Inc.
  • BigCommerce
  • OptiCat
  • Carparts.com

Chair of CAWA’s Board of Directors Mike Mohle has appointed McDowell as the chair of the eCommerce Task Force. He will bring these companies together along with traditional aftermarket companies to understand the challenges CAWA members are facing as it relates to eCommerce today.

Once these challenges are documented and prioritized, the eCommerce Task Force’s goal is to present the best solutions to help members achieve success with this channel.

According to McDowell, “The eCommerce channel for parts and accessories has never been more relevant than today and will continue to expand in the years to come. Now is the time for suppliers and their supply chain partners, distributors, to prepare for the demands that eCommerce requires to be successful. With the addition of best in class solution partners and demand platforms to CAWA we have the right mix of participants to ensure a positive impact for CAWA members.”

The eCommerce Task Force will be comprised of representation from suppliers, distributors, retailers, marketplaces, and solution providers who will work to identify and solve business and technical challenges with the objective of enabling CAWA members to participate and flourish in the eCommerce channel.

The task force will be holding their inaugural session at next year’s February CAWA Leadership Meeting in Napa, Calif. Contact admin@cawa.org for more information or if your company is interested in participating on the task force.
